San Diego, besides being known as America’s Finest City, is also America’s Craft Beer Capital. If the vast number of craft beer breweries, taster rooms, and culture wasn’t proof enough how about the diverse neighborhoods that these breweries call home. So here’s a quick list/description of some of these breweries that bless us with their craft, and that are blessed themselves for being in beautiful San Diego.
Chula Vista
So Chula Vista holds a close place in my heart, since I’ve pretty much grown up down south. You know, not too far from Tacos El Gordo. But Downtown Chula Vista (3rd Avenue) consists of plenty of mom and pop shops but a little birdie mentioned that a few more breweries are coming up. But while we patiently wait, there are a few spots to pick up a beer or two.
Clairemont/Kearny Mesa
If you’re in the mood for ramen/all you can eat Korean BBQ/almost any Asian Food, then the Clairemont/Kearny Mesa Area is the place to go. Besides the countless amounts of eateries, this holds a few craft breweries that you should definitely check out.
Downtown/East Village
If you’re in Downtown for a Padres Game or Comicon even before a night out in the Gaslamp, make sure you check out the various breweries in the area. From Half Door to Resident, you’re sure to find a place that suits your needs.
Miramar
The Mecca of Craft Breweries in San Diego. Mostly offices in an industrial area but there are breweries just blocks away from one another. If you’re trying to visit more than two, I would definitely suggest taking a lyft or uber to the area. Here’s a link to my personal 5 favorite breweries within the area.
