I was fortunate enough to visit Amplified Ale Works brewery after work since it’s only a few minutes away from my office. If it wasn’t obvious enough the theme of the Amplified is Good Ol’ Rock N’ Roll. From their flights to the name of their beers it’s a clever way to present everything.
Here’s a quick view of their beer menu on 9.27.17
Here’s a view of their guitar flight
My flight consisted of:
- Barrel Aged Big Muff
- Sellout
- Yonder Bru
- Face The Day Golden Coffee Stout
Barrel Aged Big Muff – Aged in Templeton Rye whiskey barrels, smooth malt profile with full body finish 13.1%
I really enjoyed this taster. I was expecting a harsher taste since it was aged in a whiskey barrel but it was very smooth. You could taste the whiskey but it was blended well.
Sellout – A blend of 2-Row, Pilsner malt, and rice lagered for 2 months. Clean character with a crisp finish. The perfect patio beer! 4.6%
One of the beers that was highly recommended. I really enjoyed it, like the description was very crisp.
Yonder Bru – Light body with a refreshing lager finish. Added notes of citrus in the hop profile 6.0%
I would have to say this is my favorite of the four. It was very refreshing especially since it was a bit warm that day.
Face The Day Golden Coffee Stout – Coffee Golden Stout at 6.1%
I’ve noticed a few breweries doing this lately, they look like blondes but hit you like a stout. Very tasting yet not as heavy as a stout.

I really enjoyed my visit to Amplified. I got to hang out with a few friends, show off some connect 4 skills and a game of Cards Against Humanity. Definitely a cool place to hang out and sip on a few. Cheers!
