Found this little Gem when I was on a Sushi Hunt during a Friday lunch. Got to Deli Sushi on Miralani Dr. in Miramar and right next door was 2 Kids Brewing. Very noticeable for the graffiti style decal on the window. (As seen below)
A few doors down in the corner was Protector Brewing, and a few more doors down was Align Brewing Company. I was in shock of how close everything was and that I was so late to find this area. I read on the 2KidsBrewingCo Instagram it’s called the Miralani Makers’ District.
When I finally had some time during the week post work, I decided to visit the San Diego Brewery 2Kids with a buddy of mine. When I got there, there were a few people just hanging out, talking about old movies, and random facts and we were invited in the convo right away. It was awesome, everyone was so welcoming and chatting up about random trivia.
Sorry.. let me re-focus.
The reason I went there in the first place, the Beer.
I ordered a flight to try as much beer as I can without getting too full.
1.Cupcake, 2.VioletBeauregard, 3.4thAnniversary, 4.Winning, and 5. Cats Away
Cupcake – A Vanilla Blonde, described as Dessert in a Glass! 4.6%
A light and tasty Blonde, that has a sweet finish.
Violet Beauregard – Blueberry Wheat 6%
Very tasty, can taste the blueberries throughout the beginning to the finish of the sip. During my second visit to 2Kids I ordered a pint of the Violet Beauregard since I really enjoyed it the first time. I might be biased though, I love Blueberries.
3.4th Anniversary – A Belgium Tripel Fermented with Reisling Grape Juice providing notes of peach and honey 8.6%
I really enjoy Triple Belgium’s. I enjoy the taste of the honey that follows this beer. I can’t really say I noticed the peach, however it was obvious there were notes of fruit. Maybe I just haven’t developed my tasting’s just yet.
3.Winning – Chocolate Stout 6.2%
I love me some dark beers. This beer especially smelt sooo delicious. You could automatically sense the chocolate smoothness before even taking a sip.
Cats Away – A IIIPA 11.4%
I loved this triple. Very crisp and refreshing, not too heavy either. Hard to believe after reading the description, but it really is a well balanced beer.
Overall, I really enjoyed my visit to 2Kids Brewing, everyone was very friendly. A bit small but plenty of seats to go around. Plenty of different beers to try on tap as well. Even got to meet the 2Kids themselves, Rob and Sam. Both so very friendly and helpful. Recommended we check out the Sake Place around the back(but I’ll save that for a separate post).
The 2Kids interior was awesome, very creative and so chill. I provided some pictures below!
A surprise they received during their Brainstorm event.
A view of the high tables and wall decor.
Some artwork.
